home sweet home!

It's official guys, I'm back in Boston! At least for a little while. After spending the last few weeks of May packing up and moving out, it's safe to say Matthew and I are ready for the next chapter. Tampa can't come soon and we are so excited to see what the future has in store for us.

With that said, I would like to apologize for the lack of posts pretty much all last month! Moving out takes up a lot of time, but then to realize you had already cancelled your internet makes things a tad bit difficult for a blogger such as myself :) BUT I'm back and I'm here to stay... and what better way to kickstart this blogging frenzy, than with some flowers and local goodies?

I took a drive up north today to meet with the lovely Melissa Glorieux, who is the owner and farmer of Aster B. Flowers out of Essex, Massachusetts. Melissa and her team will be growing, yes that's right, GROWING my flowers for my upcoming wedding. When researching for a florist, it was so important for me to have simple, yet quality bouquets and arrangements and when I found Aster B., I knew they would be a perfect fit. I mean, this is as real deal as it gets.

This was the view driving up their driveway. A peace sign? You can't get more welcoming than that :)

But you can! I was greeted by their sweet puppy when I first pulled in. Melissa says she's a sunbather and I say you get that vitamin D girl!

During our consultation, Melissa had lemon balm lemonade ready for me when I arrived and it was DELICIOUS. I knew I would be in for a treat, but I didn't realize just how sweet! Now I need to figure out how to get my hands on that herb to make my own…

We also took a walk around her farm and I was just blown away. There's something so amazing and so personal knowing that your flowers are being grown just for you and in the most sustainable way. That attention really makes your wedding feel extra special...and in this case, my wedding! :)  So if you're in need of a florist, I HIGHLY recommend going the farmer way. And if you're from around here, go with Aster B.! Thank you SO much to Melissa for being so sweet and wonderful during this process. I can't wait to see how my flowers bloom!

Since it was GORGEOUS out today, I decided to make a mini-day out of this trip up north. And let's face it, there was no way I could be 5 minutes away from Crane Beach (Best. Beach. Ever.) and not stop in at one of my favorite summertime spots, Russell Orchards!

My mission was to get local honey, strawberries and some sort of greens. It was pretty successful if you ask me!

I officially can never go back to supermarket arugula EVER AGAIN. I mean, look how huge these leaves are! Anyway, today was absolutely perfect and reminded me of why I love being home. To all my friends and family - let the catching up begin!
