the okinawan life.

My story is pretty simple - about a year ago I got engaged and married all within a week, left my job a month later, moved to Japan and never looked back. My husband Matthew and I agree that June 28, 2013 was by far the CRAZIEST day of our lives. Now that I think about it, attempting the RMV that same day was probably the worst decision ever. Just a little tip for those who decide to marry on a whim :)

It's safe to say my life changed completely. I went from walking down the halls at my 9-5 to walking down the streets of Okinawa as a military wife. We have already traveled to places like Taipei, parts of Europe and my favorite so far, Tokyo. And I know this is just the beginning. It's crazy, unexpected, yet wonderful how life works.

So now that you all know a little bit about me…why a blog? Honestly, I wanted a place where I could  share this experience. It's not everyday you get to say, 'I live in Japan!' so why not write about it? I get to meet amazing people, travel to places I never thought I would travel to, AND have access to the best sushi you could possibly have. I mean, let's be serious…that last reason alone is enough for me :)

So follow me as I chat anywhere from life here on island to fashion and food to DIY and more. Everyday is a surprise (For the planner in me, I'm still trying to get used to this!) and can't wait to share it all. Oh, and did I mention I'm also planning the wedding with less than 7 months to go?!  Time is flying by so sit back, relax and welcome to my everyday life!

p.s. Some events/posts may be chronologically out of order so bear with me as I catch up!
